Accreditation & Certification

We work with students in the community and in-school to prepare them for the various school tests and exams, namely, SATs and GCSEs.

TCES also provide in-house certification for our students. We also work with students towards alternative, DfES recognised awards and certification.

We are a registered centre/accreditor for the following DfES recognised awards:

  • ASDAN Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards
  • ASDAN Certification for CoPE levels 1 & 2  (GCSE equivalent grades E & B respectively)
  • Wider Key skills

The ASDAN Award Scheme offers a flexible activity based programme of learning and has proved to be an excellent way to record students' abilities, qualities and, in particular, achievements.

Qualifications chosen can be continued and added to by other institutes and are recognised by employers and vocational training organisations.

On Wider Key Skills, DfES states:

''These skills are valued by employers and higher education institutions and are important to lifelong learning. The wider key skills (Working with Others, Problem Solving, Improving Own Learning and Performance) have now been accredited as qualifications into the National Qualifications Framework.

The value placed by employers on these skills has been evident from their inclusion in frameworks prior to them becoming qualifications. In addition, other apprentices who have already achieved the Government's expectations, of Level 2 in Communication, Application of Number and IT and, for those aiming for a professional or higher qualification post-19, achievement in at least one level 3 in these subjects, should be encouraged, as should the formal assessment and certification in the wider key skills.''

We consider ourselves forward thinking as an organisation and aim to maximize opportunities to gain recognised awards and qualifications (where applicable) which will assist our students to develop these key skills.
